Rachel has worked as an interactive designer and consultant for universities, companies, arts and community organisations, independently and through her previous work as a Research Fellow at Horizon Digital Economy. She has also collaborated on consultancy and design projects as part of her work with Active Ingredient and Mudlark. Her expertise is in creating ethical and responsible data experiences, that combine tangible, emotional, embedded and embodied design with scientific and technical expertise. She is passionate about co-creating and investigating creative solutions to wicked problems – finding new ways to think about interdisciplinarity, sustainability, environment and climate change, and the future.
Rachel also develops research/consultancy toolkits and courses for schools, universities, research institutions and policy makers.

- Creating new methods, toolkits and activities that explore positive ways to think about the future
- Bringing together different disciplines to explore creative solutions to wicked problems such as climate change, health and wellbeing
- Exploring what future technologies we might need to help us adapt and mitigate in these times of environmental and climate uncertainty
