A series of artists interventions in London, Nottingham, Oxfordshire, Cumbria and Somerset are due to take place every year for the next 30 years with the Future Machine appearing, as a witness to these uncertain times and a catalyst for thinking about the future. In collaboration with artists in each place – Frank Abbott, Caroline Locke, Wallace Heim, Juliet Robson, Esi Eshun, Alex Dayo & Dave Kemp.

When the Future Comes is led by Rachel Jacobs in collaboration with Robin Shackford, computer scientist Dominic Price, climate scientist Prof John King, artists Frank Abbott, Juliet Robson, Wallace Heim, Caroline Locke, Esi Eshun, Ismail Khokon, musicians Alexandre Yemaoua Dayo and David Kemp.

Future Machine is funded with support from National Lottery Project Funding from the Arts Council of England and Horizon Digital Economy, University of Nottingham (ESPRC/RCUK), Furtherfield and Primary Studios.
